Teach Maidenhead is a firmly established teacher training provider consisting of six secondary schools located to the West of London. We are looking for current undergraduates studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Modern Foreign Language related subjects who are interested in training to teach in England upon completion of their degrees. The programme is also open to those currently enrolled in a master’s programme - including those on an integrated 4-year masters.
The internship is a three-week programme in June aimed at providing a good understanding of the daily life of a teacher. The programme will include shadowing teachers and students, opportunities to observe and evaluate teaching practice, time to research and review educational theories and literature and towards the end of the programme the chance to share your degree specialism knowledge to our Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or Modern Foreign Languages students in the classroom.
Support from subject leaders, mentors and Heads of Department will be available throughout the internship as well as the opportunity to develop an array of skills which are useful for all walks of life. There will also be time to meet with successful trainees and learn about their experiences.
At the end of the internship, you will have acquired a range of transferable skills such as team building, reflecting and communicating which will help you to increase your employability and enable you to determine whether your own skill set is appropriate for the teaching profession.

Our internship will start on Monday 9th June 2025 and will continue for three weeks. You will be paid a salary of £425 per week which will be paid upon completion of the internship. This is to help cover basic travel and day to day expenses.
PLEASE NOTE:
- To apply for a teaching internship, you must currently be studying for an undergraduate or master’s degree in either Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science or French, German or Spanish, or a closely related degree.
- You must also have the right to work in the UK. If you are an overseas candidate on a student visa, this programme is over the permitted 20 hours per week that you are allowed to work, and we will therefore not be able to accept your application.
- All candidates will be expected to commit to the entire 3-week programme.
- The Teach Maidenhead internship is based at 6 local Maidenhead schools, so every few days you will move schools and get a chance to experience the differences between them. However, you will be expected to be able to get to these schools independently.
